Reading about a difficult conversation is one thing. Actually having one is another. Our professional corporate role-players work alongside your trainers and internal L&D teams to provide realistic, safe practice that builds authentic confidence.
When participants are asked to role-play with colleagues, the exercise almost always breaks down. Peers feel self-conscious, laugh out of embarrassment, go too easy on each other, or artificially exaggerate conflict. Very little genuine learning occurs.
Resound's corporate role-players are professional actors specially trained in workplace communication dynamics. They remain completely in character, modulating their emotional intensity in direct response to the participant’s behaviour. If a manager shows genuine empathy and active listening, the actor visibly decompresses. If the manager becomes defensive, dismissive, or rushed, the actor responds with authentic resistance.
"It was really important for me that these scenarios felt real and that we moved away from traditional slide decks for this type of training. The feedback has been fantastic, and we look forward to working with you again in the future."— Katy Thorpe, Global People Director, Kinly
What makes our actors exceptional is their ability to step out of character immediately after the exercise and deliver objective, compassionate feedback:

"At Oldham College, we place a strong emphasis on management development. We invited Gill and her team to deliver workshops on difficult conversations at a time when the College was going through significant change...
Initially, I was unsure how the theatre-based approach would be received. However, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Participants found the sessions highly engaging, practical and relevant, with many describing them as the most useful soft skills training they had attended."
Our actors integrate into internal leadership courses, executive coaching, disciplinary investigations, assessment centres, and customer de-escalation training across the UK and virtually.
